We require the following for reference and preparation:
- Approved pool plans – to get accurate pool dimensions in preparation for the final measure-up.
- Approved house plans – to review site details and prepare for any scaffolding requirements.
Please provide:
- House Builder Site Manager / Pre-Construction Manager – we will email all pre-handover documents prior to the Pool Void Cover® installation.
- Pool Builder Site Manager – we will email photos of the completed installation.
Yes. Please confirm if the house builder will be installing scaffolding on the Pool Void Cover®. If scaffolding is required, we will liaise with them directly to coordinate safely.
Yes. Please advise the house handover date. We will endeavour to install the Pool Void Cover® prior to handover. Note that a site inspection measure-up is required first, so we can assess site access and confirm pool dimensions before preparing the job in our workshop.
Drive up access to the pool area is preferred. To ensure a safe and efficient installation, drive up access to the pool area is preferred on the confirmed installation date.
- If drive up access is not available, a minimum charge will apply to cover additional labour and time.
- It is the responsibility of the account holder, homeowner, or Site Manager to ensure access is clear and to advise us of any works scheduled prior to installation that may impact access, such as drainage, slab installation, piling, or deliveries (e.g., frames, soil, or aggregate).
If access is blocked or unsafe on the scheduled installation day, the job may need to be rescheduled, which could result in delays.
Yes. The quoted price may change depending on factors such as:
- Site access conditions – if access is restricted or requires additional labour, a charge may apply.
- Pool size differences – if the actual pool dimensions differ from the plans provided, the quote may need adjustment.
- Pool Void Cover® rating – after reviewing your plans, we may determine that the cover’s rating needs to be upgraded (for example, from a 220kg TWP to a 225kg SWL and 225kg SWL to 450kg SWL) to meet safety and scaffolding requirements.
- Additional pool features – if the pool has features such as a feature wall, raised spa, infinity edge, or other elements that were not advised at the quote stage, the quote may need to be revised to accommodate these changes.
- Coping different heights – if the pool coping is of different heights, the quote may need to be revised to accommodate these changes.
Full payment must be made and cleared prior to the installation date to secure and lock in your booking. Installation cannot proceed until payment has been received.
Yes. Installation cannot proceed in rain or unsafe conditions due to the handling of heavy materials. If poor weather occurs on the scheduled day, the installation may need to be rescheduled.
Yes. The bond beam is the concrete poured around the fibreglass pool shell. It must be fully poured and cured prior to installation of the Pool Void Cover®.
We prefer the formwork to be removed before the Pool Void Cover® installation. Formwork are the wooden supports used to shape the concrete around the pool. If the formwork is still in place, and impedes the cover installation, we can cut and remove it as required.
We prefer the pool to be backfilled prior to installation. Pool backfill is the process of filling the excavation space around the pool.
Yes. If the industrial mesh fence is locked, we must be provided with the gate code to access the site.
Please provide clear instructions for locating the property. If the site is not easily identifiable or cannot be found on Google Maps, include nearby street names, landmarks, or notable features to help our team find the correct location. If the site is part of a large development, please also specify the correct block and address, or provide a street number if one has been assigned.
Yes, we often install Pool Void Covers® prior to the house being demolished.
On site measure up we will review site access and if there are any issues.
No. It is unsafe to install during demolition. The installation will need to be rescheduled until after demolition is complete and the site has been levelled.
See below examples site conditions of a site in middle of a demoltion:

The pool will be put into sleeper mode, which means no chemicals are added to the water until the Pool Void Cover® is removed. Once the cover has been uplifted, you can perform a shock treatment to clean the water, which will typically clear the pool within 24–48 hours.
We advise against using Hydrochloric Acid while the Pool Void Cover® is installed. It may be corrosive to the cover and could affect the validation of your engineering certificate and insurance.
No, we recommend you do not use any acid when the pool is in sleeper mode.
We recommend using paver/tile protectors. These were offered as an optional service on your quote; if not, please advise our quoting team.
- The protectors are polycarbonate sheets that minimise the risk of scratches, marks, or staining on your existing pavers and tiles.
- The tiles will naturally stain at different rates when they are covered for 12 months, compared to tiles left open to the sun.
- Please note that moisture and debris may collect under the clear protective sheet.
- After removal, we recommend a professional clean or pressure wash of the pavers/tiles along the waterline.
- If the Pool Void Cover® will have scaffolding installed on top of the cover, then we will need to lock the cover down to the tiles.
- We will discuss this process with you before installation.
- If drilling is required, there will be an 8mm diameter hole left after the cover is removed. These can be filled with grout, coloured to match the pavers.
